An Interfaith Multi-Narrative Listening Tour to Israel/Palestine 

An 8-day journey to the Holy Land and its people that will engage your mind, body, and soul.   Join a group of Jews, Christians, and Muslims for a unique opportunity to explore sacred terrain, both geographical and spiritual. Teams of interfaith colleagues are encouraged to come together and return to their local communities to share from this experience.

Come to grow in understanding and compassion…The heart of this experience is listening with an open heart and mind.  We will meet and hear life stories representing many different perspectives and experiences.  Our Israeli and Palestinian guides will model respectful dialogue and disagreement as they offer their respective points of view.  Traveling with other people of faith will be an exciting opportunity to build capacity and strengthen relationships with other peacemakers and interfaith “bridge builders” from central New England.  We expect it to be inspiring and intense, requiring courage and compassion, so daily space will be made for spiritual reflection and sharing among us.

 

Come to listen and learn…Our guides will introduce us to such voices as Muslims in East Jerusalem, Christians in Bethlehem, former combatants, Jewish settlers, Palestinian refugees, and Jewish and Arab peacemakers.  Each will expand our understanding of the complex reality of this land that means so much to each of us as people of faith.

 

Come to explore and experience… This is an opportunity to see the region’s history, religions, politics, and archaeology with fresh eyes.  Our journey will include tasting delicious Palestinian and Israeli cuisines, visiting religious sites including the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, and the birthplace of Jesus.  We’ll also travel to breathtaking landscapes and landmarks like the Jordan Valley, Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee and the Baha’i Gardens in Haifa.
