I have been interested in photography since I was a kid but never seemed to have the opportunity to pursue it seriously.  Now that I am retired, I have decided that it is time for me to start a new adventure in life and see where it takes me.

I have always had a camera around. My mom gave me a little Kodak Brownie camera when I was young. As the years went by, I got other point & shoot cameras.  Later, when I was in the Air Force, I bought an SLR (Canon EXEE) while I was overseas and absolutely loved it. I used it for several years until it would no longer focus properly.  By that time, I had started a family, so my priorities had changed, and buying a new SLR camera wasn’t in the cards.

As I got closer to retirement my wife and I started taking long “weekend” trips throughout New England and New York.  Somewhere in there I decided a point and shoot camera just wasn’t enough anymore, so I bit the bullet and purchased the Canon Xsi.  Since then, I have gone through the Canon 60D and the 80D. In 2021 I made the jump to the full frame line (Canon R6).

I love the outdoors. Whether it is a trip along the coast of New England or walking down a path in a forest somewhere, there are always beautiful sites to see and admire. I always have the feeling of being free and being close to nature which, to me, is a wonderful feeling.

I hope the photos here provide you with the same kind of enjoyment and peace of mind that these places and creatures have provided to me.
