Rabbi Katy Z. Allen is the founder and spiritual leader of Ma’yan Tikvah – A Wellspring of Hope, which holds outdoor services all year long. For ten years, Rabbi Katy, a board certified chaplain, served as a chaplain at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. In 2015, she founded the One Earth Collaborative, a project of Open Spirit, which seeks to foster community through our shared connection to the Earth. She writes about matters of the spirit and the world, is a member of the Advisory Boards of Jewcology.org and Shomrei Bereshit: Rabbis and Cantors for the Earth, on the board of Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries, and a co-convener and the President of the Boston-area Jewish Climate Action Network.
Reverend Debbie Clark has been ordained in the UCC for 25 years and pastor at Edwards Church for 19 years. She is the founder of Open Spirit, serves on the Steering and Advisory Committees and is the Interfaith Coordinator.
Debbie’s travels to Kenya and India in the year after college fueled her deep interest and commitment to interfaith conversation, especially at the level of spiritual practices, as well as encouraged her keen desire to learn about other cultures. These experiences led her to become a Certified Yoga Teacher (200 hour) and shape the way she teaches her Gentle Yoga classes.
Eve Costarelli has been teaching yoga, flamenco and tap dance in the Boston community for the past twenty years and specializes in teaching youth of all abilities to create a community of inclusion. Eve’s classes are fun, upbeat, non-competitive, and all inclusive. By using classwork, self-study, and inspiration, Eve opens the doors for her students to take their yoga off the mat and into the world. Eve is an Arts Educator, bringing mindfulness, yoga and flamenco into the communities of Massachusetts through various non-profits including: Open Spirit Center’s Nourishing Teachers/Strengthening Classrooms Project, Young Audiences of Massachusetts, Celebrity Series: Arts for All!, Dance In The Schools, Core Yoga In-Schools, and Ivy Child International. Eve is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher through Barbara Benagh’s “Deeper Into the Art of Teaching” and definitely sees teaching as an art. Eve loves working with youth because she finds herself reborn again and again.
Lisa Davidson RYT is a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor, 500 hour nationally registered professional yoga teacher, board certified Polarity Practitioner, Usui Reiki Ryoho master, and former physicist. She has been practicing and teaching yoga and meditation and offering energy healing for over 30 years. Her yoga classes offer an inward relaxing focus to rediscover your true nature through “Meditation in Motion”.
Katherine McClean has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 15 years and has practiced the art of meditation much longer. “Because meditation has been such a supportive and transformational practice for me,” she writes, “Iʼm passionate about sharing it with you.” Katherine teaches mindfulness, hatha yoga, and is a holistic practitioner who serves clients as a personal trainer and sound energy healer.
Kathleen enjoys teaching many types of dance, tai chi, and qigong. Her goal is always to help others with the expression of music, dance, tai chi, tai chi fan, and the healing arts. She has been a professional ballroom dancer and currently teaches competitive ballroom dance students. She is a martial arts black belt. Working with her students brings her great pleasure.
Donna Warren has been teaching yoga for 15 years. She taught many different forms of exercise, until a mountain bike accident led her to yoga. That, in turn, led to deeper practice and to teaching. Donna blends elements learned through her kundalini and hatha yoga trainings in her classes. She also works with healing crystals, leads meditation, and does Shamballa Reiki. Her dedication to laughing led her to be certified as a laughter yoga leader as well. She brings a bit of that training into everything she does!
