Introduction to the Jewish Talmud

The Talmud is the most important rabbinic literature, and its contents shape the Judaism practiced today. But what is the Talmud?

The rabbis speak of “swimming in the sea of Talmud,” a vast set of volumes chocked full of wisdom. With this quick peek into this vital piece of ancient Jewish literature, led by Rabbi Katy Allen of Ma’yan Tikvah – A Wellspring of Hope, you will gain a basic understanding of the structure and content of the Talmud, its role in the Jewish religion, and a taste of its contents.

People of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome and no previous knowledge is required.

This event is co-sponsored by Ma’yan Tikvah.
